Mr. Mudassir H. Khan (MD/CEO) Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company (PMRC), virtually participated in the 4th Kenya Affordable Housing Conference, held in Kisumu, Kenya on August 7–8, 2025, hosted by Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC). Speaking on “Making Housing Finance Work: Lessons from Secondary Mortgage Market Players,” he highlighted role of a liquidity facility for the housing finance market, sharing insights on strengthening the secondary mortgage market, bridging affordability gaps, and fostering public-private partnerships. He emphasized that secondary mortgage market institutions are not just liquidity providers; they are market makers, de-riskers, and drivers of inclusion through innovation. He also spoke about mobilizing long-term capital to deepen housing finance, innovating products to serve the unserved and underserved, deploying de-risking mechanisms to encourage primary lenders to move further down market, and embedding Green and ESG principles to future-proof housing finance for impact and sustainability.
