Mudassir H. Khan (MD/CEO PMRC) addressing to Accelerating Investment in Pakistan forum at annual meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos, Switzerland, held on January 19, 2023. In the event, Mr. Khan emphasized importance of a clear roadmap to achieve economic prosperity by providing favorable investment environment and opportunities to both local and foreign investors. He also highlighted the importance of minimum quality standards and environmental and social safeguards especially in the low-cost environment of resilient housing.

PMRC held its Sports and Family Gala to provide employees an occasion to break away from their work routine. The gala helped employees come together as a single family to engage in sports and fun activities and make cherishable memories. Cricket Tournament was the highlight of the gala, which were actively contested by different teams from different departments. The Sports and Family Gala was followed by scrumptious dinner and giveaways to employees and their families. Mr. Mudassir Khan, MD & CEO distributed the trophies and memorabilia to the winners and runners-ups.

Awareness Session on Credit Guarantee Scheme Phase 2

Credit Guarantee Trust (PMRC- the Trustee) has organized awareness session for Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs) on December 13, 2022 at PMRC Office to update on features of the Guarantee Scheme Phase 2. Session was attended by representatives of PFIs. During the session, participants were briefed on the core operational features of the Guarantee Scheme for Phase 2.

Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company (PMRC) and Meezan Bank join hands to promote Islamic Housing Finance in Pakistan. The signing ceremony was held on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Meezan House, Karachi to ink the arrangement by virtue of which PMRC will provide medium term fixed-rate facility to Meezan Bank for increasing affordable housing finance and home ownership especially for middle income group. Mudassir H. Khan – Managing Director & CEO, PMRC while speaking at the occasion said, “It is indeed a milestone for both the institutions as we recognize the importance of mutual coordination between financial institutions for the growth and support of housing sector in the country.

Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company (PMRC) participated in a webinar on Climate-Smart, Low-Income Housing in Pakistan organized by Karandaaz Pakistan.

Muhammad Shahzad Khan, Head of Business & Products of PMRC being a panelist in the webinar, expressed his views on the challenges of issuing Mortgage-Backed Securities in the capital market and bankable financing structure for prefabricated houses.

PMRC arranged and hosted a roundtable meeting at its Office on November 1, 2022, which was attended by the World Bank Mission and representatives of Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs), to review and discuss progress on expansion of low-income housing. During the meeting, participants not only provided invaluable suggestions for growth of mortgage market, but also emphasized the need of extending special housing finance facilities to flood affectees.

PMRC participated in 8^th Asian Mortgage Market Association (ASMMA) meeting held on 22 September 2022 in Malaysia. The meeting was organized to update milestones achieved by members of ASMMA (Members) during the year and to exchange ideas and experiences with a view to promote housing finance market in respective countries.

PMRC and Cagamas Berhad entered into a strategic alliance as they signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their cooperative relationship, explore solutions to issues of mutual interest and exchange relevant information on policies, research, and programming in this field.

The signing ceremony was attended by several prominent personalities from both sides, with Mudassir H. Khan – CEO PMRC, and Chung Chee Leong – CEO Cagamas Berhad as the key signatories.

PMRC organized a Business & Products Training Session for the staff on 24^th September 2021. The session focused on the role of PMRC for the development of mortgage markets, PMRC products & features and the organization’s achievements.
